Hi there! I cover state politics and government for The Texas Tribune. I'm based in Austin.
I previously covered Congress for The New York Times as the 2023-24 Rosenbaum reporting fellow. There, I covered some of the biggest news out of Washington, including Speaker Kevin McCarthy's ouster and progressive anguish over the war in Gaza. I led The Times' coverage of the 5-year reauthorization of the FAA, following the package from committee through enactment, and of the Smith-Wyden tax bill.
Before The Times, I did stints at Politico, The News & Observer in Raleigh and The Boston Globe.
I graduated from Brown University, where I studied public policy and served as editor-in-chief and president of The Brown Daily Herald.
